For a tech-averse, compliance-driven audience, that was a bad default. Users had to already know which of forty fields applied, and when something went wrong, the software felt like the failure. Access was just as rigid. Vendors, police officers submitting a single report, and outside counsel needing one document all had to become full subscribers because the system only understood one type of user. We built practice-specific templates and participant types, so the right fields appear automatically and access reflects someone's role in a matter instead of a subscription toggle. Legal teams stopped filling irrelevant fields and stopped working around the platform to involve outside parties. Flexibility became a reason to adopt Traact instead of a reason to walk away.
